About the blog
I'm James Harrison. I'm a software engineer, technical architect, or engineering manager, depending on the day of the week. I've worked in the UK telecoms market in alternative network operators (Gigaclear, Zzoomm, and post-merger, FullFibre/BeFibre) for about 10 years, and worked in broadcast at BBC Research & Development before that.
Talk Unafraid was a blog I ran from the 2000s to mid-2010s, mostly blogging on my projects, photography, and cryptography. Most recently I've ressurected it as a place to share my thoughts on various bits and pieces, since the short-form of social media (Mastodon etc) hasn't quite felt right for writing to me.
In my spare time these days I do astrophotography as a hobby, alongside a lot of home DIY and bird photography. You can find some of my work and more details over on my homepage.
